Bristol City Council - EMASThe Ethnic Minority Achievement Service works within Bristol Local Education Authority and is a small team devoted to improving the achievement of minority ethnic children in the City.
2006 EMAS Refugee and Asylum Seeker Team Evaluation.
External evaluation, using semi-structured interviews and focus groups.
We interviewed local education authority staff, teachers and head teachers, parents of pupils at Bristol schools and consulted with local community groups. The research showed that the service was widely respected but needed a great deal more resources to have considerable impact across the City.
