2009-10 Preventing Violent Extremism
The scheme is funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government/Home Office. Our role is to assist the Council to learn the best ways to broaden and deepen the engagement of local people in preventing violent extremism and promoting community cohesion. This is a partnership project and the key players are: Bristol City Council, Avon and Somerset Police, Government Office South West, Fire and Rescue Services, NHS, Chidren and Young People's Services, Prisons and Probation Services, as well as a broad range of mainly Muslim-led voluntary and community sector agencies.
